Hump Day (Day #32)

Wednesdays are always good days because they are the hump days, but also because we go on excursions. Our first stop today was to Kilmainham Jail. It is a really old jail that was restored and is now a huge part of Irish history. The jail was originally used for criminals from Dublin, but shut down following the famine. It then reopened and acted solely as a political jail. It is most famous for the executions of 14 Irish men following Easter Rising. it also is the most filmed location in Ireland. After our tour we went back into Dublin and ate our lunch at Trinity College on the grass. It was a beautiful day here, we have been so fortunate this whole trip with great weather. We had a little time before we met the group so we finished off our souvenir shopping. Then we went to the Jameson Whiskey distillery. It was cool, except they now make the whiskey in Cork in southern Ireland so all the equipment was a small scale replica of what it would look like. At the end of the tour we got to chose a straight shot of jameson, or a couple choices of mixed drinks. I took the strait shot, I've been told it puts hair on your chest. Then we came home in time for dinner, pizza and fries, a good ol' American dinner. Since dinner we have been working on our papers and now we are pretty much done. Tomorrow is our last day of class which is super exciting. That only means one other thing, we are almost done here. Peace Beotches.
