Bon Voyage (Day #25)
The weather changed a little bit today, it was a little warmer and the sun was actually out. Me and Jess woke up and had pancakes for breakfast. We met in Dun Laoghaire at 9:00 to hop on a coach bus for our group trip today. We went to an area called Boyne Valley. We first stopped at Trim Castle. It is the biggest Norman castle in all of Ireland. It is mostly still in tact and it was really cool compared to some other castles we have seen. Then we ate lunch and headed to our next location. Our second stop was to a place called Knowth. It was a series of old burial mounds. From the top of the biggest mound we could see the more famous, Newgrange, but that tour is booked out for over 2 years already. We headed back home after that and when we got home dinner was ready. We had potatoes, chicken with broccoli and sauce in it, and veggies. After dinner we had an ice cream cone and talked to Derek and Angela about the similarities and differences about here and at home. I'm glad that we got to talk for a while because Angela is leaving in the morning. Me and Jess bought them a thank you card for everything they have done and she was really thankful for that. She told us how happy she was that they got us this summer, and that we were so awesome and she wouldn't have wanted anyone else. She also told us if we are ever back in Ireland, even if it is years from now, to stop by, we are always welcome. I'm glad that we got placed here too, they are awesome and they have made our experience better by making us super comfortable in their house and country. Now it is time to relax, today was a long day. Tomorrow we have another day of class and on Friday a trip to Southern Ireland so we need some good sleep.
